Member Reputation Explained: Building Trust on SugarHut

SugarHut's 5-star Reputation Score is earned through real behaviour, not bought. Here's exactly how it's calculated and how to build yours.

How the Member Reputation System Works

Trust is everything in sugar dating, which is why SugarHut built a Reputation Score that reflects genuine, earned behaviour rather than a paid badge. Here's exactly how it works.

The five criteria

Your score is calculated automatically from five factors, each worth one star. Responsive Communicator: an average reply time under 24 hours, an 80%+ reply rate, and 10 or more conversations. Regularly Active: at least 3 online sessions per week, totalling 30+ minutes. Complete Profile: 100% of your profile filled in — photo, bio, location, arrangements, gallery, email, and verification. Established Member: an account that's 3 or more months old. Verified Identity: completed ID and facial biometric verification.

The bonus star: vouches

Beyond the five core stars, members can earn a sixth bonus star through peer vouches. A vouch is a simple endorsement — "I confirm this person is respectful and genuine" — that can only be submitted by someone you've exchanged at least 10 messages with. This message threshold makes vouches genuinely meaningful and hard to fake. Collect 5 or more vouches and you earn the bonus star.

Why vouches can be retracted

If a member who vouched for you later reports you, their vouch is automatically retracted. This keeps the system self-correcting and prevents it from becoming a static, unreliable signal.

Making your score visible

A calculated score isn't shown on your profile by default. Beneficiaries can enable visibility for free in Settings; Providers pay a one-time 50 credits. Once enabled, your stars appear on your profile and browse card, giving other members an instant trust signal before they even message you.

Why it matters

A visible Reputation Score consistently increases message quality and response rates — members feel more confident reaching out to someone whose trustworthiness is demonstrated, not just claimed. Building yours is simple: be responsive, stay active, complete your profile, get verified, and have real conversations that lead to genuine vouches.
